Ms. Aimee and Former Yamaha Students Team Up For a Premier of an Original Composition

We are so excited to announce that Ms. Aimee and her dear friend and former Yamaha student, Neala Sheehy, have written a choral piece, “Prayer of Goodnight”, that will be premiering in Austin on Saturday, September 21, at 7pm. The group performing the piece is Austin Cantorum, a group of musicians and artists performing illuminating and imaginative concerts throughout Austin. The artistic director and conductor of the group is Adrienne Pedrotti Bingamon, who is Neala’s sister and is also a former Yamaha student at Jensen’s Yamaha Music School.

Aimee and Neala have been dear friends since they were little. Neala’s mom, Jayne Morgan-Kidd taught Yamaha classes at Jensen’s Yamaha in the 90s, and was also Aimee and Noelle’s private piano teacher when they were growing up. Aimee and Neala spent many hours playing together while their moms were teaching. They loved playing piano together, trying to play “Solfegietto” the fastest! Continuing in their friendship, they decided to write songs together in 2007. Neala is a talented writer and poet and had many many journals of material giving Aimee lyrics for her melodies. They performed together their songs being known as the Lemons and Limes. Some of their songs were all fun and silliness, while others were more poignant about past loves and wishing loved ones a goodnight. Neala moved to Oregon in 2008 and the Lemons and Limes have been on break, but Aimee and Neala have recently been collaborating again to repurpose their pieces for choir. They are over the moon to have their beloved piece performed and are working to continue making music together and sharing their music with everyone.
