Jingle, Jingle, Jingle Bells!!!
This morning was our monthly free Family Music Time event.
We saw some new and familiar little faces dancing and singing to the holiday music. We learned some new lyrics to sing with our old favorite melodies like “The Reindeer on the Sleigh” instead of “The Wheels on the Bus”. We even did the Reindeer Pokey for the first time! The little ones were crawling, hopping and jumping around with the music. We even had a little Christmas Tree to jump around as we sang “Here we go Round the Christmas Tree (Mulberry Bush).”
It looked like musical instrument free play at the end was a big hit. After we sang together and read the book, we filled the room with many different musical instruments and activities – tambourines, triangles, drums, claves, bells, castanets, drums, glockenspiel, wood blocks and books. The children were free to explore and discover the distinct sounds of the instruments. It sure was a joy to watch! You could tell the children already showed an interest in specific instruments.
If you missed it, you should attend our next one on Tuesday, January 15 at 10:30am. You can also download the lyrics to all of the songs we sang this morning by clicking this link:
