Nutcracker Experience 2019

This cold front has me thinking about our special Holiday Nutcracker Experience – and it will be here before you know it!

We will be spending time learning, playing, singing, dancing, and listening to Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.  This special event will take place the last week before our holiday break:  Saturday, December 14th – Thursday, December 19th.  Each week we will spend the last part,  of class with one of the Nutcracker songs.  Here is a link to our Google Drive folder where you can listen to excerpts.  Of course, we encourage you to listen to the whole ballet – not to mention other favorite holiday songs that your family enjoys.  

You can pick up one of our two holiday music books at the school.  I have audio files online and all the solfege is written in the music.  Students can learn new holiday songs and every year they get better and better!  They’re only $10!  Book 1 is for beginners and Book 2 has more difficult songs (some melodies from the Nutcracker!)

These familiar melodies and themes bring back so many wonderful memories and fill my heart with joy.  I hope that this will become a part of your holiday tradition.
